Dare to speak what you feel!

ree

In a world that sometimes paints pregnancy as a constant fairy tale, it's time to focus on the truth and give voice to your heart about maternal mental health. The title, "Dare to speak what you feel," represents the courage needed to openly express the highs and lows that accompany pregnancy and postpartum.

Pregnancy is often described as an incredible journey, a period of change and growth; and motherhood as something magical, where the arrival of the long-awaited baby brings unconditional love and overflows with gratitude. But, to be honest, sometimes it's not all roses. Doubts and shadows can arise, and that's perfectly okay. This message is a simple invitation to acknowledge the mix of emotions that come with these important life phases.

The myth of radiant joy

It's high time to challenge the idea that every expectant or new mother must radiate boundless joy. While some find this period enchanting, others grapple with uncertainties, fears, and an emotional rollercoaster. And you know what? That's totally acceptable.

The pressure to be grateful

Gratitude is a beautiful feeling, but it's crucial to recognize that not every moment is experienced as a blessing. The pressure to be constantly grateful can unintentionally suppress genuine emotions. It's perfectly acceptable to acknowledge challenges, fears, and moments of vulnerability.

Embracing resilience through vulnerability

Many expect mothers to always appear strong, but I invite you to celebrate the resilience found in moments of authenticity. Recognizing and openly sharing fears, uncertainties, and a mix of emotions doesn't make the journey less valuable; it makes it richer. Choosing vulnerability is a powerful sign of the strength and adaptability inherent in the pregnancy and postpartum experience.

Breaking the stigma: let’s talk about maternal mental health

Conversations about maternal mental health should be open and free of judgment. Challenging the stigma requires creating a safe space where mothers feel empowered to share their truth without fear of being labeled as ungrateful or inadequate.

"Dare to Speak What You Feel" is about expressing yourself. There's no need to hide the hard parts. By sharing our real stories, we can make things better for all mothers. Remember, you are not alone, and your feelings are valid.

Let’s talk and support each other!
