How I approach birth support

No one can predict how birth will unfold. What makes the difference is feeling informed, knowing how to respond as things evolve, and having someone beside you who already understands what's important to you.

Preparation goes far beyond a birth plan. My approach is inspired by the Swedish method "Föda utan Rädsla" (Giving birth without fear), using breathing, movement, touch, voice, and partner involvement to help you work with labour rather than against it.

Throughout our work together, I won't make decisions for you or tell you how your birth should be. I'll help you understand your options, interpret what's happening, and navigate each step in a way that aligns with your values, your preferences, and your circumstances.

Every person comes to birth with different desires, doubts, and stories. That’s why support should never be one-size-fits-all. Whether you want steady guidance throughout your pregnancy, last-minute support when birth is near, or just a few sessions to prepare, here are different ways to be held through this experience.

All services are available in English, Portuguese, and Swedish.
In-person care in Malmö, Lund, the surrounding towns in Skåne, and Copenhagen.
Obs: Travel fees apply outside Malmö.

The road to birth doula care (packages)

01. Free introductory meeting

We begin with a 30-minute in-person meeting at a coffee place of your choice or a video call to introduce myself and tell you how I work, understand your needs, and see whether we are a good match.

02. Secure your due date

Once you decide to move forward with a package, we'll complete the agreement and booking. From then on, I reserve availability around your estimated due date and begin preparing for our work together.

03. Prepare together

Two in-depth prenatal sessions where we'll explore:

  • Foundations of birth: your preferences, wishes, and expectations, revisit previous experiences, explore the stages of labor and hospital routines, and build your birth plan together.

  • Physical & emotional preparation: breathing exercises, positions, comfort measures, and strategies for the partner or support person, so that you feel more confident and aligned for the day of birth.

04. Continuous support when labour begins

From the first signs of labour, I'll be available by phone and message to help you understand what's happening and guide you through each stage. As labour progresses, we'll stay in close contact and decide together when it's time for me to join you in person. My goal is to be with you when continuous in-person support will make the greatest difference, remaining by your side throughout labour and the first hours after birth. To provide reliable continuity of care, I work alongside a trusted backup doula. While I plan to attend every birth myself, there are occasions when another doula may step in, such as illness, an unusually long labour, or other professional or personal circumstances. If that happens, you'll continue to receive consistent and high-quality support.

05. Reflect and recover

After your baby arrives, we'll meet again to talk about your birth experience, your recovery, feeding, and any questions that arise as you settle into life with your baby.
